Why South Florida Tables Need More Care Than Anywhere Else

South Florida has the harshest pool table climate in the continental US — worse than Phoenix, worse than Seattle, worse than New Orleans. Year-round humidity of 70-90% causes felt to continuously absorb and release moisture, warping the nap and creating dead spots. Salt air corrodes metal hardware and degrades cushion rubber. Hurricane seasons shift building foundations and knock tables out of level. And countless beach-area condos sit in sun-baked rooms with no air conditioning when the owners are up north. Our South Florida recommendation: annual tune-up and releveling, refelt every 3 to 4 years (not 5 to 7), and stainless-steel hardware upgrade for coastal homes. We use hurricane-rated anchoring for tables on high floors and moisture-barrier underlayments on slate seams.

South Florida FAQ

How much does pool table moving cost in Miami?

Flat-rate: $380 (7ft), $420 (8ft), $460 (9ft) across all of South Florida. No distance surcharges between Miami and Palm Beach. Stairs +$40/flight. High-rise COI +$50.

Does Florida humidity really destroy pool tables?

Yes — and worse than anywhere else in the continental US. 70-90% year-round humidity causes felt to continuously absorb and release moisture, which warps the nap and creates dead spots. Cushion rubber degrades. Metal hardware rusts. We recommend refelting every 3-4 years in South FL (not 5-7 like dry climates) and annual humidity re-stretches.

Do you help with hurricane prep and post-storm restoration?

Yes. Pre-season we offer hurricane tie-downs ($125) and protective covers. Post-storm we handle water damage assessment, wet-felt replacement, slate inspection, and full re-levels when foundations shift. If your home flooded, we can often save tables where the slate wasn't submerged.

¿Hablan español?

Sí — todos nuestros equipos en Miami, Hollywood y Aventura son bilingües. Puede cotizar y recibir servicio completamente en español. Ver página en español →

Can you provide COIs for Brickell, Sunny Isles and Aventura high-rises?

Yes. We carry full general liability insurance and can provide Certificates of Insurance within 24 hours for any high-rise building. Let us know at booking time so we can coordinate with your property manager.

Do you work on imported tables from South America?

Yes. Miami has a lot of Brazilian, Argentinian, and Cuban imported tables with non-standard slate dimensions or hardware. Send us photos ahead of time so we can bring the right adapters. We've worked on everything from vintage Havana carom tables to modern Brazilian-made 9-footers.
